Having recently experienced the flight network, I decided to add to this topic, a list of items and tests on the subject.

There are several ways to understand the flight network

- Either by creating virtual networks using multi -players native functions MSFS: Hamachi or Wippien example.

- Either by using dedicated software that fit or replace these functions réseausx MSFS : FSHost FSCloud or for those that I 've found .

VPN Hamachi (http://www.hamachifrance.com)

My first experiment was conducted in Hamachi . This software is installed on a server PC , offers a VPN ( virtual private network , encrypted or not) that allows people to connect peer-to -peer and thus play FSX via a multi- player session.

pros:
- Proven software and commercial
- No need for a FS installed on the server PC .

cons :
- Can not host multiple different versions of FS since the concept appye on multi- player application functions .
- Paying for what software is installed on the server

VPN solution Wippien ( http://www.wippien.com )

I recently discovered another product to achieve an optical VPN in Games Networks , Open Source and FREE is wippien ( http://www.wippien.com ) solution.

... to be tested cool.

FSHost solution ( http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshost )

In the case of this solution , it is a client / server which is more or less replace the FS layer of network solution.

FSX and Prepar3D , it consists of a FSHostClient software is installed on each client machine ( those running FS ) and will allow your PC to connect to a server that " dispacher " the data from these various clients. On the server, you install the FSHost component.

FS2002 and FS2004 are able to connect to FSHost with their own integrated multiplayer layer so users of these versions do not need FSHostClient .

This solution allows to coexist multiple versions of FS them . Nevertheless, I 'm pretty wary of as reading the FAQ , it seems that the refresh period FS2004 information is more important than the latest versions as FSX or Prepar3D therefore the risk of clogging.

pros:
- From Windows 95 and above
- Support FS2002 , FS2004 , FSX and Prepar3D
- No need for a FS installed if it is to host a "host server" only

cons :
- DirectX 7 is required to host FS2002 sessions.
- DirectX 9 or more is required to host FS2004 or FSX sessions

An article on FSHost to get an idea http://flsim2002.free.fr/Downloads/reseau.htm

FSClouds solution ( http://fscloud.net )

It is a software pre- alpha yet but looks very promising ...

pros:
- Software implementing its own independent network layer that FSX
- Software ascending

cons:
- Limited to FSX and Prepar3D
- Only Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 (.1) are supported exit XP

For the moment, it is THE software what you need  cool
