Lockheed Martin to release New Prepar3D v5.0 version on April 14, 2020

The main new features will be DirectX 12 compatibility, the integration of new technologies such as Simul TruSky for volumetric clouds and nVidia Waveworks. The whole Terrain and the basic Landclass will be processed in PBR textures but what will happen to the OrbX airport sceneries?

As for the improvements brought by these new technologies, I refer you to this article on the FlightPilote website https://www.flightpilote.fr/threads/fsdreamteam-fsdt.316/page-6#post-67012

 Release of Prepar3D v4.5 HotFix 2 (27/09/2019)

The second hotfix to Prepar3D v4.5 (4.5.13.32097) is now available. It can be downloaded immediately from the Purchased Downloads section of the website.

The Prepar3D v4.5 Hotfix 2 contains numerous new features and improvements. Multiple changes have been made to improve the Virtual Reality (VR) experience including automatically hiding the VR mouse cursor when not in use, providing additional calibration options, and adding the ability to enable eye tracking by default. A new Eye Tracking Demonstration scenario is included that showcases VR eye tracking and guides a new pilot through a representative aircraft startup procedure. Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) ground clamping has been completely overhauled bringing enhanced realism to live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) events. Developers now have access to several new Prepar3D Development Kit (PDK) services including advanced VR interfaces that help streamline Mixed Reality (MR) integrations. Additionally, multiple bugs reported by users and developers were fixed, further improving the usability and stability of Prepar3D v4.5.

Only the Client installer is required for the majority of fixes present in Prepar3D v4.5 Hotfix 2. The Content, Scenery, and SDK installers are optional. Each fix listed below is categorized per installer. Please note, you must first have Prepar3D v4 installed to utilize any of the standalone installers (Client, Content, and Scenery).

To install the new Client, you must first uninstall your current Prepar3D v4 Client via Programs and Features in Windows Control Panel.

Release of Prepar3D v4.5:

Prepar3D_v4.5.jpg

The last update of Prepar3D is available since tonight!

Prepar3D v4.5 continues to build on the foundation acquired during previous revisions and this release brings new features, improvements and fixes to the platform at all levels.

The night lighting on the site has been redesigned to add more detail and clarity. Highways illuminate urban landscapes and vast urban environments come alive, extending to the horizon with HR night textures.

Major optimizations have been made to model the loading, considerably reducing the loading times of complex scenes (such as those of OrbX for example). Further improvements have been made to the entire platform, ranging from multiplayer jerky sas animations, improved virtual reality (VR) performance to improved brightness and color balance based on the new PBR rendering.

Features developed for developers, including support for PBR-generated vegetation, greater customization of effects, various interface updates and new services, expand Prepar3D's open development architecture, allowing for richer and more customizable content

cadeau.gifPrepar3D v4.4 - by Lagaffe 28/11/2018 : 20:48

Prepar3D v4.4 is coming out soon

A few months ago, the press reported some details that Lockheed Martin's next version of Prepar3D should be released by the end of 2018 and that it would include physical rendering (PBR). This site announces in advance of the phase the list of fixed bugs and new improvements.

For those who are wondering, PBR technology is a technique that will allow the simulator's graphics engine to react appropriately to lighting. For example, metal surfaces will reflect the brighter and shinier light to the touch, while fabric-like materials will not. It seems that some aircraft and set developers have already worked on creating PBR textures for their next products.

According to the L.M. website at 21:00 French time, downloads from the website http:/www.prepar3D.com have been suspended:

... proof if it is that the new version is being downloaded on the official servers and which suggests that the release of this opus will not be long in coming cool

EDIT: at 21h36 French time: it's OK
